If not chicken pox what could this be?

DD (age 6) has maybe 10 of these spots on her body, mainly her arms and legs and 1 on her back. I noticed the first ones a couple of days ago and assumed they were mosquito bites from our holiday to Spain last week even though I hadn’t noticed them before! Anyway, now she has got 2 new ones and a very slight fever. They look a bit like early chicken pox but don’t develop into blisters and she has already had CP!

She doesn’t seem too troubled by it but I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what it could be! Bites?? Maybe the fever is unrelated? Or is it a virus?

Oh and we don’t have any pets nor has she had close contact with animals recently so I don't think it’s fleas.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Bed bugs? Do they itch?

Bridgeofpies · 07/09/2019 13:59

She says not especially. I haven’t noticed her scratching one... although now you say that I remember a few days ago she scratched her scalp until it bled. I nit combed her and nothing!

I will have a look for bed bugs. She didn’t get anything on our 10 day holiday though so not sure where they could have come from! I do think it sounds like bites though.
