1yr old woken up with swollen eye

Hello!

Just in need of some advice. My almost 1 yr old (11.5months) has woken up this morning with a slightly swollen top eyelid. It's not red or particularly obvious but I'm not sure what to do or why it's swollen. She grazed her chin yesterday so I put some arnica cream on it and am wondering if she's got some of that on her hands and then rubbed her eye...

Should I ask a pharmacists advice? Or just see how it goes through the day?

Any mummy advice would be greatly received :)

Hi
I would just ask the pharmacist for some advice.

I'd get someone (ideally a GP if you can today) to take a look at it.
I took DS to the walk in centre a couple of years ago with a swollen eyelid, thinking it was conjunctivitis but they took one look and sent us straight to A&E with suspected orbital cellulitis.
Thankfully it did turn out just to be a mild infection but orbital cellulitis can be very serious so the lesson I learnt from that is always get swollen eyes properly looked at ASAP

Best to go to out of hours/ call nhs24. My wee one gets this every now and then and is always straight on antibiotics (cream, eye drops and oral all together). They don't play about with infections near the eye. Hope she's better soon!
