Hand foot and mouth

Hello, I've come down with hand foot and mouth this week, fever started on Tuesday morning, gone but replaced with a hideously sore throat Wednesday morning... then sore fingertips started Thursday eve and Friday morning a subtle rash appeared on sides of fingers and got sore feet. My 1 yo DS doesn't have any symptoms (yet) and DH doesn't either

We're meant to be having a bday party for my son on Sunday... obviously if comes down with a fever between now and then I will cancel it... if he doesn't, and husband doesn't am I still likely to be contagious? The rash is really mild but perhaps I'm being optimistic and it's going to likely get worse?!

I think I already know the answer... but I really don't want to cancel 🤦🏻‍♀️

I got HFM from my daughter. Hers was mild. Mine was... Horrible. Her spots were gone within 24 hours. Mine... Urghh.

In my experience the fun is only just beginning for you. My rash got worse for at least three days, and then all the skin on my hands and feet peeled off over the next few weeks. I also had two nails fall off about a month later.

On the plus side, your throat might be feeling a little better...

Is it an actual rash?

Have you been diagnosed with HFM?

Susie- thanks for your reply. I ended up rescheduling as even though I seem to have more or less recovered, I would be pretty gutted if anyone came down with it.

Luckily it has more of less cleared up, the rash on my hands never got that bad just a few tiny blisters on finger tips... now left with tiny dark red polka dots on them- weird. Feet still sore, but deffo better. I'm hoping I've had an easier go with it than you... kids fine so is husband

And yes (sorry other poster don't know how to tag!) it's definitely HF&M. Not been to the drs but every symptom and the way it presented is spot on, pardon the pun!
