Hi all,

Don't know wether I'm in the right topic but here goes, I'm a first time mum baby baby is 13 months old and has all of a sudden gone of cows milk! Baby normally has x2 bottles a day one in the morning and one before bed, Baby has just started messing around playing with bottle tray, babbling with the teat in mouth etc. Baby drinks water for an open cup and sippy cup I have tired to serve milk this way too!

The other issue is baby will point blank refuse to be spoon fed, since 9 months I've been serving finger food! So that means no yoghurts porridge etc. I have been putting cheese in babies food where I can but I'm running out of ideas and worrying if baby is getting enough calcium?! Am I over thinking things? Should baby still be on a bottle or should I scrap them?! Confused as to what to do. Open to any opinions etc I'm a tough cookie so fire away!

Thanks

I would try semi skimmed milk or try toddler milks in a cup what is he eating for breakfast if he is refusing a spoon ? I would let him crack on with eating with his hands but offer a spoon baby fork so he can do it himself .

@Mrsjayy thanks for your response, sorry I didn't add that I have tried giving baby a spoon whilst I try to spoon feed but even then baby kicks off screaming and refuses! I still give baby a fork and spoon when they are eating now and encourage them to use them

Wrt the feeding my daughter is like this and eats porridge and yoghurt with her hands. Seriously I think she's feral! Just strip the baby down and let them get in with it.

Have you tried different non dairy milks to see if there is one they like?

Will baby dip something other than a spoon, say banana in to yogurt or bread in to soup?
I'm wouldn't worry too much about refusing milk. Neither of mine ever 'moved on' to cow milk, they just weaned from breast milk to drinking no milk. One really liked (and still asks for when he sees it in the supermarket, even at 9!) Alpro toddler/growing up milk. It is very sweet, though, so probably not a good habit to introduce. Neither of them ever drank milk, but like coconut milk in porridge/on cereal.

I agree let him go ferel and just give him his cutlery to try little tubs of yoghurt he can maybe dip into cheese cubes etc. Keep offering milk i had to take 1 of mine off full fat milk as she refused to drink it and move her onto semi skimmed and some formula at night.
