Mole - should I worry?

Just noticed my 13yr old's mole seems to have got bigger in height. Annoyingly I've just been to the doctors with him & appointments are hard to get where we are. Should I be concerned? It doesn't itch or bleed & is about 3mm in diameter. He's not been sunburnt as far as I remember. I've included 2 photos. Tia

I shouldn’t think that’s anything to worry about in a non skin damaged 13 yr old.
In my experience when you’re growing moles grow with you and I still got new ones up to my 30s.

Thanks for that. I'm going to ring the doctors today anyway just to be on the safe side.

I doubt there’s a cause for concern - but would always get checked just in case. Still, most moles that fit the criteria for needing to be checked don’t end up being cancerous - it’s just good to be safe.

Doesn't look dangerous. Might be worth getting removed at some point if it keeps catching.

Hi all,
Managed to get an appointment & luckily it was fine after all. Doctor won't remove it though as apparently it will leave a scar! I personally think it would be worth having it removed as it's near his waistband & I can see it getting irritated. I guess we'll just & see what happens but thanks so much for reassuring me

Good news. My Dh has had a couple removed near collar and on hip. He has a white scar. See how she gets on, there is no age limit to removal.

He not she , sorry.

Mole scars can be almost invisible if done well. Plus on his waistband no one's going to care about a scar. Just looks like something that's going to catch all the time.
