My dd 15 has had joint problems for a few years, now getting worse and i have ehlers danlos and it runs in my family she has been referred to a rheumatologist now waiting for appointment but after contacting some places asking about it all have said she will have to be refferred to harley street as thats the only specialist seeing children and its private so will cost me £300 minimum just for initial consult. surely this isnt the only way to get a diagnosis? can someone please help

I don’t know but it can’t be that you Hugo pay. What about patients with no money? I’m sure the NHS will pay any costs, she’s still a child for a start. Good luck. Maybe post in a busier place.

Have you contacted this group? Perhaps they’ll know more.
