Constant runny nose for a year now

Hi all. Looking for advice please.

My 20 month daughter has had a constant runny nose for a year now, and there has been no let up, it’s every day, all day. She’s been in hospital a couple of times with bacterial infections which have been treated and whilst the hospital have been great I just don’t feel I’m getting very far with what might be the cause. She’s had a sleep apnea test as they noticed when she was in hospital her oxygen levels dropped v low whilst sleeping and it was also established she has large tonsils which may have been affecting her sleep. As test that came back fine they discharged her even though they had also discussed that she may need to have her adenoids out as that may been causing her constant streaming nose. I am waiting another referral back into the hospital system to see the senior specialist as understand they discharged her by mistake.

I’m now thinking of getting her seen by a homeopath or getting an allergy test done although she doesn’t have any other symptoms (apart from a large sticky out stomach?!)

I suppose I’m really asking for any advice or recommendations for either the above or if anyone else’s little ones have had similar symptoms as I’m sure it’s not normal for her to have to endure the constant streaming nose?

Thanks in advance x

Try antihistamines every day for a week and see if it improves, if so its probably allergies. The most common one is dust mites, so you could also try mattress encasements etc and see if that helps too

My ds (now 11) had this. Runny nose all day every day. Various allergy tests etc but all came back clear. Had a slight sleep apnoea (was premature so quite common) and breathed loud etc. Also had enlarged tonsils and adenoids.

We were basically told that until they are around 12 they won’t do anything unless causing health problems as most grow out of it as they get bigger.

Pleased to say my DS did grown out of it. Hoping your dc does to. The amount I spent on tissues was obscene
