Any guesses for this rash? DD 11

It’s on her inner thigh, not itchy or sore. I’ve googled but can’t find anything similar, she’s had it a few days (maybe a week) but only just mentioned it.

I’ll try and get a GP appointment tomorrow.

Shingles maybe

It does look like shingles but it’s an unusual place to get it? Heat rash that’s become inflamed maybe??

Shingles can occur anywhere that there are nerves.

Yes it’s an unusual place for most rashes I think. She’s had shingles before but I can’t remember what it looked like, I’ve googled and it’s apparently quite rare to get it twice - although that said, she had it when she was four and that was the youngest my doctor had ever seen anyone with it so she may have a vulnerability to it (if that’s even a thing).

She thinks maybe a dance costume with sequins might have rubbed it but it looks more rash like to me. Fingers crossed we can get a docs appointment tomorrow!

I used to get that from chafing.

I get that from chafing, lace shape wear shorts were a particular culprit. Is she muscular/narrow hipped? Or just wearing short shorts or a skirt in the recent hot weather?

I hadn’t thought of that as it’s only on one side and she’s quite skinny but she is very narrow with it and the dance costume was a sequin pair of shorts for her leavers assembly so it could all make perfect sense!

I will see how it is in the morning and pop some aloe vera gel on it which should help if chafing.

But this is exactly what the rash i have looks like on my inner thigh as well. I have been doing endless research on what it might be and have been terrified that its HSV or Herpetic related. 🥺

Hi, I found this thread. My child now has the same on his leg. What exactly is it?

I came across this thread today. As picture shows very similar of what my child has on his leg. If anyone could share what exactly it is, I'd be grateful.

Could be the beginning of impetigo. Trip to the GP or send a photo in tomorrow, if I were you.
