Broken arm

Ds broke his arm on Monday, a&e put it in a cast. We went back Thursday for a permanent cast and the doctor said we need to come again next week for an X-ray and then to see him and see if he needs an operation.

Is this usual? A&e checked to see and they said that day it didn’t need operating on. Will they really operate one week after?

I really thought it would have been done sooner rather than later.

The bones can shift between 1st & 2nd Xray. So the 2nd look is to make sure they are stable & not wandering. All very normal! Operation after 2nd week is still soon enough but operations best avoided if not required, iyswim.

Glad to hear it’s normal, hopefully the X-ray will show it’s healing nicely.
