1 year old had it on Wednesday, he got a temp that night (over night) and still has now, it’s not mega high but higher than norm so about 37.5 - 38 but does come down with Calpol. He has been quite miserable though and the heat didn’t help but it’s been cooler the last 2 days and he’s still a bit grumpy too.
Would you think this is the jabs or is it too long now? Could it be a virus more likely?

Yes it sounds normal to me! I think it tends to be the mmr thst made my little one out of sorts, he was just not him self for a good ten days I'd say! Was so relieved when he was back to himself again!
If your really concerned you could perhaps phone the out of hours?might put your mind to rest.
Does he still have a temp now?

That’s interesting to hear. He’s not himself but he’s not terribly ill so I guess I’ll just ride it a bit and see

Yes that's exactly how my lo was, not himself, bit grumpy, just abit off it really. Yes just keep an eye on him and his temp, and you can always phone 111 or your gp if you need any further advise!

Your poor DS. Mine is the same, he had his yesterday. Was absolutely fine and then developed a temp and was exhausted in the evening. He was so tired this morning as well but has woken up an hour early from his nap and is inconsolable because he's so tired still. I don't remember DD being like this but it was 4 years ago!

Sympathy OP, it's horrible.

My dd was the same with her 1 year jabs - they were definitely the worst ones IMO. I've got ds's coming up in a month and I'm dreading it!

SmartPlay · 27/07/2019 13:26

Yes, it certainly can be caused by the vaccine - there can be effects up to about 3 days after the shot. For MMR I've heard it can start even later. My daughter reacted with high fever for 4 days.

Completely normal, nothing to worry. Just treat it like being sick from a bug and make sure he rests and drinks enough.

KitandKaboodle · 27/07/2019 13:59

Thanks guys, it is reassuring to know that it’s normal. I think I had it in my head it should only be for 2 days max and mmr side effects start a week after

I’ve got the same ! My daughter had hers Monday and on Tuesday came down with HFAM. Total nightmare. She’s miserable as sin and I’m blaming the jabs for some of it as she seems to have a mild dose of HFAM (so far)
Lots of cuddles I think!

How is your little one now? My boy had his 8 days ago and he still has a highish temp and is miserable (had the temp since a.few days after). I took him to the docs yesterday to check it wasnt an ear infection and she said its probably just the jabs but gave me no indication on how long the temp will last.

KitandKaboodle · 30/07/2019 20:04

Well, the temp came down on Sunday and was ok yesterday and today but he’s still a bit irritable. I’m hoping he’ll be a bit happier tomorrow
