On and off fever for 4 days

Morning everyone.

My dd who is 4 has been running a fever now on and off since Saturday. We've been administering calpol and it's keeping it under control. She doesn't not have it All the time for instance none yesterday but had some in the night as woke up with fever. This is accompanied by her saying her forehead hurts. I presume headache? She also says she feels wobbly sometimes, I'm unsure if she is joking or not about this as she seems to be laughing about it and doing it for a show(the wobbly feeling not the headache, the headache has accompanied the fever since Saturday)
I have asked the usual, if her throat hurts or ears etc and no they don't. No other symptoms are presenting themselves which I find strange.
Anyone else had similar? We go on holiday on Saturday so praying it's not the start of something. We've just got over chicken pox as an FYI about a week and half ago since they have been gone.
Thanks

My ds4 had exactly the same thing in April, was perfectly fine one minute and then the next went all tired and spiked a temp which was solid for 2 days and then off/on for the next 2 days saying he had a headache the whole time. No appetite and no other symptoms. The fever broke on the 4th day evening and then he had a few loose stools that night, on day 5 his appetite slowly returned. I never took him to gp as I was able to control the fever and he was drinking OK and not overly lethargic etc. Fingers crossed today is your dc last day of it, if not I would suggest a doctors appointment tomorrow.

@Nogodsnomasters that is reassuring. Wonder if a virus or something. We are say 4 today, and she's fine this morning so fingers crossed.
I'll book her in tomorrow if she has it again today/tonight x

How has she been today op?

Nottsangel2015 · 23/07/2019 17:51

Sweaty but not sure if that's just because it's so hot. Not eating much just snacking but again could just be the weather. Have just noticed that she has a bit of a rash on her tummy and back - it's not inflamed or red but like tiny spots. She doesn't appear to be bothered by them though. Think I'm going to book in the drs tomorrow to be sure, we are flying to Portugal on Saturday so just want to be sure all is ok.
Thank you for asking @Nogodsnomasters x

No fever the rest of the day? The rash could be either heat rash from her being sweaty or viral rash (which fortunately always signals the beginning of the end usually!). Let me know how you get on at the doctors tomorrow.

We've decided to see how she goes, had a good night, no fever, no headache etc rash has gone so think it was heat rash like you said. If she has nothing today fingers crossed whatever it was has passed x
