Hi all, ive noticed that my babys tummy is quite prominent, like a pregnant belly and im not sure its normal. Hes 12 months old and is formula fed. He has dirty nappies regularly so i dont think its constipation. Any help appreciated.

That’s very bloated. You need to take him to the GP.

Babies his age do tend to have pot bellies that look out of proportion to the rest of their bodies but in my opinion his is quite larger looking than my ds's ever was so I would suggest letting a gp see it.

Great, keep us posted how you get on at the doctors.

The GP said there's nothing obviously wrong with him. He has regular wet/dirty nappies so thats a good sign. Just have to keep an eye on it and see how he goes within the next few weeks.

Well if the gp had a good feel and the tummy was soft that indicates that its not impacted stool which is good. Has it always been like that or just noticed recently a change in size/bloating?
