Does my baby have a cold sore?!

Panicking! My LG is four months old and has woken up with this mark on her lip.

I suspect she may be teething as her cheeks are quite red and she was quite unsettled last night. She’s also chewing on everything and drooling like a tap! But I’ve only just noticed this mark on her lip.

Neither me nor my partner have any cold sores and we don’t let people kiss her on the face or hands, so I don’t know where she may have gotten it if it is a cold sore. She seems totally fine in herself, not ill or feverish.

Thanks! :)

Cold sores usually present as blisters. This looks more spot like so impetigo may be developing. Impetigo is a bacterial infection usually requiring antibiotics. I would see how it goes and see a GP or nurse practitioner tomorrow if it's not settled

Ah cutie! My dd had similar and I panicked. It just went. At that age I think they have quite severe flu symptoms before.

No I don't think as they usually are much bigger and get fever etc. you can get an amazing machine called a virulite that gets rid of them every time you use them.
