Any experiences of glandular fever in a young child (mine is 6 years old)?

My DS has had a recurring fever every few weeks all this year. He gets a headache, sore neck, occasional tummy pain and the normal temp associated stuff of being lethargic and hot/cold etc. It lasts a couple of days and then its over and hes back to his normal self.
I took him to the docs today and doc suspects glandular fever. But looking online I can see nothing that confirms the recurring fever etc, more a 1 time thing. Does anyone have experiences of glandular fever in small ones and if so, how did it present??
TIA. xx

My daughter was diagnosed with GF when she was 4 1/2. Fevers returned very routinely with various other symptoms. She has recently at 9yrs old been diagnosed with PFAPA. Her GF screen was negative
