My 1 year old has a horrible croup- like cough. She is fine in herself..bit of runny nose. and during the day has only coughed a few times. Since she went to bed though her breathing sounds awful. Sounds more in her larynx. Im sure its croup. Its exact symptoms from NHS website. Her colour is fine but breathing is so noisy. Its better if i pick her up but she wants to lie down. When do I worry?

Try opening a window and getting some cool night air in.

Is she sucking in the skin under her ribs or at her neck?

Have opened window..good idea thank you. Really hard to tell she's in her sleeping bag sound asleep. It depends on her position. She's rolled onto her side and breathing seems quote a lot better. Just looked at her neck and it may be sucked in slightly. Its just the noise. When she was up she was running around happily and has been at nursery today. She's only distressed when she coughs. My husband thinks she's ok but im too worried to go to sleep because of the noise

It soinds like if she gave a really good deliberate cough to clear her throat it would help!

Have you raised the head of the cot? If not, try and raise it quite a bit, the worst position is lying down.
Does she make noise both when breathing in and out? When Dd had croup the paediatrician told us if it is only noisy on the way out (it may have been in, not 100% sure) it is fine, but if the noise is both for in and out, to take her to A&E
