My daughter is 25 months & was potty trained at 23 months. I know it’s very early but we’ve had zero accidents in 6 weeks & very few in total. She just gets it.

Suddenly, the last two days she’s wet herself all day long. Hasn’t got to the toilet once. And is weeing twice as often as normal, if not more. She had 3 accidents in half an hour this morning Confused She seems very reluctant to use the potty but there’s no obvious pain when she wee’s in the floor..

She doesn’t seem unwell but looking back at the last few days, she’s been quite irritable & lethargic at times. I put it down to her suddenly waking up crying several times overnight which is unusual. But maybe the bad sleep is related..

The lack of pain throws me a bit, I’ve had plenty of UTI’s to know how horrible they can be! But something is off.. perhaps worth checking do you think?

Please take her to your GP urgently. It could be a UTI or it could possibly be type one diabetes. Or she could be fine. Whichever way she needs to be investigated.

BTW the test for type one diabetes is a finger prick blood test done there and then by the GP. Ideally the child will have eaten something with carbohydrate within the last two hours. Do not let the GP tell you that you need to come back for fasting blood tests or that the child should be referred to a phlebotomist at the hospital. Finger prick test there and then. Let us know how you get on
