Hi there I'm in need of some advice as I'm a first time mum and not sure how to go about my daughters illness.
She's 22 months old and started with this illness Saturday morning temp 38.3 shakes not drinking not eating not interested in anything other than laying down on me upset and drifting in and out of sleep. She's not sleeping well the shakes and joults wake her. She's been to the doctors been checked over with no obvious signs of illness (throat, ears, chest, back) I've been given Dioralytes to build up her fluids and told to bring her back Wednesday if she's not improved. I'm just concerned it's day 3 she won't drink or eat and her temp is a steady 38 brought down to 37.6 with calpol. I just don't know how to help her

When you say she won't drink, do you mean except for milk, or very little or anything at all? Did the doctor show you how to check for dehydration - if not google it. Is she still having wet nappies? Can you syringe fluids into her - 5ml every 10 min or so?

The temperature wouldn't worry me and the lack of eating is not a big deal but possible dehydration would worry me. If you think she is showing the signs of dehydration then take her straight to a&e.
