Delayed periods - DD aged 12

My dd is due to go to PGL next week, she is also due her next period next week. She is really stressed about it as she has painful, heavy periods. We tried tampons and she refused it as it hurt too much. I heard we could give her medicine to delay her period. Is 12 years old too young ? She has the body of an older girl. I’m planning on taking her to the gp to ask for the medicine. Anyone did it for their daughters ?

What's PGL? GP is best placed to advise.

You can get northeristone prescribed to delay a period, dd’s friend was about the same age as your daughter when she used it.

You need the GP but you need the GP fast because she will have to start taking them 3 days before she is sure her period.
