Swelling under tooth

DD11 back tooth has just come out (with a little help) and the gum underneath seems to have been inside the hollow tooth and is now swollen and raised. Is this normal? Will it go down?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i think this sounds normal, but without seeing it I couldn't be sure. Do you have a photo?

cleowasmycat · 18/06/2019 22:31

Same shape as the tooth that came out!

Is it painful? could it be an abcess?

littleyellowwellies · 18/06/2019 22:42

Looks a little abscess like to me...
If it's not retracted a bit by morning I'd be inclined to see the dentist for antibiotics

EugenesAxe · 18/06/2019 22:48

Yes I’d probably have that checked out. No idea if it is anything, but I’ve not seen a reaction like that before.

PullUpsAreTricky · 18/06/2019 23:36

Perfectly normal. Don’t panic. ( I’m a dentist btw)

cleowasmycat · 18/06/2019 23:41

Thanks, normal like it will go down in a day or two?
