Is my child’s stool habit normal?

My eldest son poops twice a day. Most of the time the poop is like a formed snake but soft, but I’d say fortnightly or twice weekly, his poop is over soft, still formed ish but messy to clean. He also can have a hard poo in this time too.

My logical head says these is just related to diet as he’s otherwise healthy, no complaints of stomach pain, putting on weight etc but then the part of me that is ruled by my OCD is convinced he may have stomach cancer 🙈

Nothing in your post ringing alarm bells OP. Unless poop is super thin like a pencil, snake-like poop is the ideal. The mushy poop is most probably due to diet than anything sinister because it’s only happening every couple of weeks. I would not be concerned at all

And gaining weight isn’t the concern with cancer- losing weight rapidly is the symptom
