Squint surgery 1 year old

Wonder if anyone can reassure me, my daughter had squint surgery on both eyes 2 weeks ago after the surgery they were straight but now the left is starting to turn in again intermittantly have been told to patch for an hour a day but dont feel its working would she need another op or does it take a while.for the eyes to straighten properly really worried now

Does she wear glasses too?

No her eye sight is fine the glasses didnt correct the squint

Did they give glasses to start with? My dd had a squint that wasn't corrected by her glasses so she had a squint op. She still has her glasses though. Patching is normally done to improve vision in an eye with poorer sight than the other

Hi Kayleigh, my daughter had squint surgery at almost 2 1/2. I'm guessing she had the opposite situation to your daughter as her eyes turned out intermittently. The doctor over corrected her eyes and so after the op her eyes looked a little crossed. Do you know if your doctor did any over correction? Did they mention whether it could start to cross so soon after surgery?
