Glitter in DD’s eye...dr?

My daughter got glitter splashed in her eye at school yesterday. The TA managed to get a lot of it out by flushing it and I got more out last night, but there are still two pieces in there. They keep appearing and disappearing. Is it something to call the doc about?

I definitely would. The fact that the glitter is moving about is positive but It's not worth messing about with eyes.

Yes of course as a matter of urgency or an optician.

LilouBlue · 11/06/2019 09:25

Yes, I read an article about a woman who ended up losing her eye after getting glitter in it. Dr or optician, ASAP.

Going to an Eye casualty would be better.
Google your local hospitals to find out if they one. Or ring 111 to find one.

It must be AGONY!

Thanks, I honestly wasn’t sure what to do, I’ll take her down to the opticians. They should at least be able to advise as to what to do next and may be quicker than the doctor! I spoke to a pharmacist this morning who was completely unconcerned so I wasn’t sure if I was overreacting but very glad I asked MN.

FMFL · 11/06/2019 21:57

Thanks to you guys all sorted. Went to minor injuries unit and they got the glitter out! I won’t be so hesitant next time.

Should qualify that by saying that the dr sent us there, I didn’t just rock up at a & e Grin but seriously so glad I posted and thanks again. I never know what to do for the best - love MN!!

Don't feel bad about ever needing to go to A and E, a foreign body in an eye warrants attention! Glad all is okSmile
