UTI with sharpe pains

DD9 started on a 3 day course of antibiotics for a sepected UTI yesterday, no temp or burning/pain when weeing but sharp central lower stomach pains that can also be either side.
Doctor did a urine dip and said there were traces of blood and signs of infection.
She's still getting sharp pains and technical after having the 2 doses yesterday tomorrow will be the end of the course.

If not improved by Wednesday will take her back, I do find it odd apart from the pains there are none of the usual signs of a UTI.
Any experience of a UTI like this?

Not in a child but myself. I usually need a 7 day course to clear things up. Definitely take her back.
Also for future you can buy urine dipsticks online. Any raise in leukocytes, protein or blood is usually infection. I get frequent ecoli infections which show as leukocytes only but are excruciating.
Hope that helps x

Thanks, we did have some urine stick last year when DH was watching for infections following a hospital stay, I'll have to get more.
I thought 3 days was quite short so will go back tomorrow if she's still in pain.
I think this is the first UTI she's ever had so hoping it's just a one off.

Our GP goes to the same gym as DH and saw him last night and asked how she was after seeing the out of hours doctors notes, she said she'd be happy to see her on a same day if not ok by tomorrow.

@youlemming how is your daughter now? X

She's brighter in herself thank you and back to eating normally.
Still has the stomach pains despite it being the end of the 3rd and last day, but there's probably enough in the bottle to get another dose or maybe 2 so will finish the bottle and make a call in the morning as to going back.
I'm wondering if it is really a UTI or the the pain it something else maybe muscular and she just happened to have a low level infection as well.
