When to go back to school with chicken pox

My DC has the pox and although we're taking the GP recommended five days off he'll still be absolutely covered in spots by the time he's due back at school.

Is that ok? Will the contagious period have passed? Will it be an issue for anyone?

Need to know soon so I can plan taking more time off work if needed.

Wait until all of the spots have crusted over,
It’s usually five days but could be a little longer.

You have to wait until they all scab over
Can take longer than 5 days sometimes

All spots have to be crusted over, he has to stay off until then. Can take longer than 5 days.

Thank you. Looks like another day then!

We had to wait 10 days for the last spots to die. DS was still coming out in new ones at 5 days!

Thank you. Looks like another day then!
