Coughing

I have a 20mth old DD and she has this terrible chesty cough. She's had it for ages now and I have been the the drs 4 times and her cough isn't getting better. She is absolutely fine during the day, it's only when she lies down to go to sleep at night. Does anybody know any home remedies I can try so I can try and ease her cough?

We've tried inhalers, prescribed one time steroid medicines, cough medicine.. extra elevation at the top of the bed, currently on tea tree oil in warm water in her room (recommended by friend), we've tried honey to name a few.

Any advice would help massively!!

She may have a dust mite allergy

Try mattress, pillow and duvet encasements, steam the curtains and put any stuffed toys in the dryer, then wash then dry

If you have a carpet, try a steam based carpet cleaner

Then a childrens allergy medicine at night

If that doesnt help, try a humidfier
