Hypermobility in hands

Apologies in advance for how ridiculous this sounds.

Do all babies have hypermobility in their fingers up to a certain age. My DD is 16 months and her fingers seem really bendy. Whenever she presses a button or touches something with her finger, all the joints bow backwards. It doesn't hurt her or anything but I just wondered if this was normal.

A couple of mine have hyper mobile hands but it was only picked up when they were older. How is your baby generally? Is she walking? Was she a bum shuffler or did she crawl? Hyper mobility is unlikely to be affecting only her hands.

I've no idea but I've had hyper mobile fingers (and toes) all my life and it hasn't caused me any issues if that puts your mind at rest. Very useful actually for certain tasks.
