Hand foot and mouth question

Happygolucky12 · 23/05/2019 14:37

Just been to collect my little one from nursery and it looks like she has hand foot mouth. She has sores in her mouth and on her hand and has been quite miserable for the last 48 hrs (I thought it was teething). We are due to go away on Sunday and need to cancel ASAP if we can’t go, does anyone have any experience of how long they feel rough for after the spots have appeared? And what can I do to sooth her discomfort? Thanks x

I would say that you can go away still? Is there a newborn going to be there at all?

Both DD and DS had HFM, the spots appeared after they were really crotchety, to be honest, after they were over the worst of it.

Calpol and calamine cream soothed my two. Not sure how bad your little one has it, DD had a particularly bad strain of it, even the doctor was impressed!

Thanks, she is much better in the day but still waking up 4/5 times in the night, she would normally sleep through, she is nearly 2!
