Fever in toddler

My two year old son has had a cough since Monday .. wheezing (he has asthma) .. last night he got a temp of 38.8 then today it went up to 40 gave him calpol it went down to 38.6 then after 4/5 hours gave him another dose .. it was creeping back up it went from 38.9 to 39.5 and now two hours later it's still high in the 38's .. I have no nurofen I don't drive and have a baby that's in bed .. the two year old is also sleeping . shall I call 111 ? Or just keep an eye on him

How is he now OP?
It's good that the Call was reducing his temperature a bit, but if you're worried about his breathing definitely get him seen asap. You can't be too careful. As he's got / had a cough and cold it could have turned into a chest infection.
As long as he's rousable, not too lethargic and managing to drink, the fever itself isn't a problem.

@BlackInk hey he did have a chest infection and received a new inhaler and antibiotics from the doctors but he's breathing got worse so paramedics took him to hospital on oxygen .. were home now but he's still very poorly hot and wheezy I feel so bad for him 😟 still not eating either xx
