Night time couch

Morning can anyone with any experience/ advice please advise.

DS1 age 6 has had the reoccurring night time cough for months. Had him at the doctor about 6 times to date - said it's viral. Had him at the asthma clinic went through 8 weeks of testing, appointments etc and they have said conclusively he doesn't have asthma it must be viral.

It's driving all of us mad. I damp dust his room every 2 days incase it's that, he has 2 big pillows to keep him propped up, couch medicines, water. Changed the washing powder etc nothing seems to work. He doesn't sleep with teddies or anything like that.

During the day he doesn't cough once then the second his head hits the pillow it's constant for about 2 hours, he falls asleep for a bit then wakes himself up cough again constantly, falls asleep and this repeats all night. Him and his brother share a room - he keeps (himself) and his little brother awake most of the night. We're in the next room and I'm constantly up checking him and then getting up to work full time. DP takes his turn as well (and up as well working full time) but it's impossible to sleep with the constant coughing from him or moaning from DS2 about being kept up.

We're all going mad and so sleep deprived it's getting us all down. I'm well aware I'm definitely not as patient with them both anymore even though it isn't anyone's fault. Can anyone suggest anything else?

Could it be silent reflux?

Bobbindobbin · 15/05/2019 20:22
