Ulcer on tongue

Hello,

My 18 month old had a high temp on Thursday as of Friday was fine. But as of Saturday has an awful what looks like an ulcer on the tip of her tongue. And I'm sure has 2 more very small ones.
She's very clingy. I've taken her to doctors but they just said probably viral.

She had chicken pox 2 weeks ago.

Have any of you experienced this?

It could be hand foot and mouth, my son only had fever for 1 day with his but terrible blisters on his tongue then spread round his lips and outside his mouth, he only had 1 blister on his hand and none on feet. His mouth was very painful for a good 2 or 3 days then they slowly started to disappear as his form/appetite improved.

I did think this. But doctor just says she's run down 🤷🏼‍♀️ poor girl is in so much pain. X

My son had the temperature and the ulcers. Doctor said viral but prescribed difflam for the ulcers which at least numbed the pain a bit so he could eat. Also told me to give Ibuprpfeb and paracetamol

My daughter started like this and ended up with lots in her mouth, tongue and throat. She found it hard to eat and drink, the emergency doctor advised hospital. It turns out they were cold sores, she never had the virus before, so wasn't protected against them. Fed her ice cream milkshakes with fruit in for a few days then they started to go down.
