Sons had chicken pox - can you get it again

My sons who’s 9 has had this but a friend has got it who was meant to be going on a school trip.
I’ve said I’d go and see the child with my son but am now concerned this is foolish.
I think spots have only come out today.
Any advice.
Thanks

You normally get immunity from one bout of chicken pox.

Depends on age and how strongly they had it the first time. Both my dds had it around age 1 mildly then got it again (severly) around 3.

Hi,

My daughter has had it three times, son twice and youngest daughter once.

So yes you can get it more than once and chicken pox can be very serious so I would refrain x

If previous dose was before 1yo and/or mild, the chances of having it again are higher.

I had it aged 12 and again aged 32.covered both times. I'd not take the risk.
