No 'Red Book'?

Hi there

So I had my baby boy 21st April, my first child (so I have no idea what's going on 😆). When we were discharged we were told by a midwife and nurse that "we don't give red books anymore".

I know of these health books, my Mum still has mine and my brother's despite us being adults, so I thought it was an old thing and wasn't done anymore.

But then when health visitor and midwife made their visits they asked for the red book. I told them I wasn't given one and they looked at me funny and was very confused when I explained.

Any recent Mums had the same issue?
I asked the midwife if she's able to let me know where to get a red book from and she didn't know.

Anyone know where I can get one from?
I keep getting letters that state they need to be inserted into the book - I'd rather that then all these scraps of paper everywhere for 18 years!

I just had a look online and it said that the red books were going online from April, maybe thats why? link to the article. you could try asking your health visitor? x

If you're in a part of London they are trialling e red books. But you should have access!

I live in South Wales but I'll check out that article and double check it's with us too! Just would have been nice if they told us and the midwives 😆

I'll double check with my health visitor and midwife but they've seen me once and hasn't bothered contacting me to come back down so... On my own I guess 😆

i found this link online, and while it isnt an 'official' red book it might be worth getting so that you can have vaccination details/paper etc in one place? all the best x
