Is this chicken pox?

These spots have appeared on my 3 yr this afternoon. Under her armpit and down her side, there's also a couple on her knee. She's totally fine in herself, no temperature and the spots aren't itchy. They don't appear to spreading elsewhere on her body yet. Could it be chicken pox? There's so many different images on google it's hard to tell and I don't think I've ever seen it in real life! Not that I can remember anyway!

They don't look like chicken pox OP

Soubriquet · 08/05/2019 18:48

I agree they don’t look poxy

Have any blistered?

Zazu44 · 08/05/2019 18:48

They don't look like chicken pox OP as they're usually more of a blister, these look more spot like

NotSoThinLizzy · 08/05/2019 18:50

Have you got any furry pets?

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 08/05/2019 18:50

Going against the grain here. My dc’s chicken pox looked like that in the first 24 hours.

Soubriquet · 08/05/2019 18:51

There is still a chance they could be yes as i think I remember my dd’s starting like this

Pop her in the bath as the heat tends to bring them out. Will tell you if it’s chickenpox then

Flicketyflack · 08/05/2019 18:55

Look like the pox to me too Sad

Hope ds feels ok ThanksCake

BreakHerOffAKitKat · 08/05/2019 19:00

Hmmm so could go either way!

We've got a dog but no fleas that I can see!

They don't seem blistery. I'll give her a bath and keep an eye then maybe call the GP in the morning

Thank you all

Looks pox-like to me. Has she been unwell during the last few days at all? Maybe just a bit 'off'?

BreakHerOffAKitKat · 08/05/2019 19:01

She's not been unwell at all in fact her appetite has increased the last couple of days

My little ones started like this 2 weeks ago!
I'd really recommend virasooth (from boots) and bathing in head and shoulders in the bath. Bath seemed more useful at stopping the itching though

NorthernRunner · 08/05/2019 19:02

I am no doctor (just a CM) and they look like the very early stages of chicken pox to me. Have they quickly come up? Chicken pox can go from 1 spot to multiple in a blink of an eye.

MMxO · 08/05/2019 19:04

Both my little boys started like this the next morning woke up blistered with more appearing :)

sofatitsshameful · 08/05/2019 19:08

Looks like the pox to me.

shazkiwi · 08/05/2019 19:10

I think they look like early chicken pox. I can see a tiny dot in the middle of most of them, which I'm guessing is where the blister will form. They come out in batches so if it is chicken pox expect more by tomorrow. My kids didn't itch until a few days in, when the first lot of blisters started to burst & scab.

poppinpink · 08/05/2019 19:14

Looks like it to me.

Kazzz65 · 08/05/2019 19:17

Yes and you'll be certain because each spot will form a blister the next day

GMtoBe · 08/05/2019 19:17

DD looked like this for her first day of chickenpox and had a good appetite and wasn't unwell. You'll know for sure by the morning.

Sammy867 · 08/05/2019 19:33

Looks like pox to me too. We’ve just finished last week and currently all still a bit scabbed and they looked like this when they first started

insancerre · 08/05/2019 19:39

They do look like chicken pox
I work in a nursery and I currently have 15 children off with it

BuggaLugga · 08/05/2019 19:42

I think it's the same thing my DD(9) has as it is in her armpit - and we have seen a dermatologist - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molluscum_contagiosum

BuggaLugga · 08/05/2019 19:43

It looks identical to my DDs

Mumsymumphy · 08/05/2019 19:46

Chicken pox currently doing the rounds at my school. I think they look like chicken pox. Give DC a bath, if you can watch them appearing as they're in the bath then it's most probably chicken pox.

BreakHerOffAKitKat · 08/05/2019 19:52

Thank you all for the replies. We didn't have time for a bath tonight but a few more spots have appeared on her legs and she's now fast asleep. I'll see what they look like in the morning but sounds like pox is the most likely!
