Poxclin - how long to apply?

My 7 month old has had a pretty bad bout of chicken pox and is covered in spots. We're on day 6 now and the vast majority have crusted. I'm slightly worried about scarring as he has so many and a lot on his head/face. We've been applying Poxclin which I understand helps reduce the chances of this, how long should we keep applying it for? Til the scabs fall off?

I'm currently in same situation with 16 month old DS. How are you getting on?

@Gastonimo still applying on the bigger scabs on day 10 to see if it makes a difference to healing/scarring. Some of the smaller ones have shrunk and fallen off now leaving tiny red dots which will hopefully fade with time. He has a 'king pox' on the side of his head with a huge scab, thats the one I'm most concerned about scarring, and a few on his back. How are you getting on?

Oh gosh sounds awful. I think they only scar if they get soar from bleeding. Have you been using piriton to help with the itching?

We're on day 4 and can't see any end to it as more spots just keep appearing. He's not sleeping and running a fever at night. Feeling quite helpless.

No piriton under 1 unfortunately! We got new spots til day 5 and by day 7/8 were all scabbed. Mine had a fever only at night too.

Oh nuts. I definitely think it's helped with the itching but not helping him sleep. We're on the third night of no sleep so I'm hoping tonight is better.
I hope your DS is feeling much better soon.
I'll keep going with poxiclin till it's all cleared up I think as it seems to cool and soothe.

He's been fine since about day 5 and a lot of the spots are fading. Hope yours is better soon..we def turned a corner after 3 rubbish nights (though he doesn't sleep very well anyway!)
