Any experience of viral labyrinthritis in a teenager? Presently experiencing hell here poor kid. Have prochlorperazine which is not really helping. Any ideas of self help measures gratefully received.

Hi hope your teenager improves soon - I had this myself and it was so unbelievably awful. Just had to stay completely still (hard with a toddler) or would keel over. Took some time to recover, but I wasn't given anything for it.

Thank you. It is awful. Just wanting other experiences especially in this age group as quite frankly it's left me a bit scared and starting to think all sorts.

I had it when I was about 14 (and 3 times since...). It caused me to have about 2 weeks off school if I recall because I was really quite bad with it. The subsequent occasions I had it were equally as bad but passed a lot quicker.

That's exactly where we are now. Up and down hourly and generally not making much progress. I'm worried sick... did anything help you at all?

I remember lying on the sofa watching this morning and having a diet of ice lollies because I didn’t have an appetite.
