Hi, I'm just a first time mum and am sure I'm being over the top, but would like some advice please.

I'm 99% sure my 11 week old just has a cold (she also had one a few weeks ago). She's a bit snuffly and gives the occasional cough or sneeze. Shes also unsettled this morning, but had a good sleep last night.
She's still feeding fine, wet and dirty nappies.
Her temp this morning has been 37.1 and 37.3.

Obviously everywhere says don't give calpol at this age unless it's for vaccinations/until they've seen a doctor. However we're visiting family at the minute (so she's seen loads of people-no one appeared ill but it's probably why she's caught the cold) so 5 hours away from our GP.

Can anyone recommend anything? Obviously if I become very worried I'll call 111.

You could try saline nasal spray/ drops for the snuffly nose. Calpol is ok from 2 months old so the odd dose would be ok if you think she is in pain. From calpol website:

Can be given to babies 2-3 months with post-vaccination fever. Can also be given for other causes of pain and fever as long as they weigh over 4kg and are not premature.
Do not give more than 2 doses.
Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
If further doses are needed, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

She’s got a cold. She will be fine.

@dementedpixie thank you. I've done both and it helped

@PotteringAlong oddly enough that's just what I needed someone to say 😂. Thank you!!!

Smile sometimes you just need someone to tell you it’s all ok.

How is she today?

Mine had a cold at 6 weeks. They do get through it. Are you breastfeeding? That helps with the antibodies.

I have a 16 week old who, due to an older sister at school and another at pre school, has basically had a cold since birth!
It’s fine. We’ve used saline spray and snuffle babe when really bunged up but not needed anything else.
