Two week old with cold - advice needed

Sadly my two week old has managed to get a cold, at least I'm guessing that's what it is as my husband, me and older daughter all had a mild one immediately following the birth.

I've never had to deal with a cold in such a young child, and it's freaking me out a little.

His breathing is a little fast, but still within the upper limit of 60 breaths per min. However, it does sound horrible, and he only seems to get some relief if I have him on his front on my chest.

His Nosterals aren't flairing and his chest movement is normal, but he does keep gagging on the mucus.

I'm going to run the shower and try and use the humidity to clear him out a little before bed, but anything else I should be doing?

Urghh...

My DD had it couple of months back when she was about 4 weeks old. I took her to the GP just for my peace of mind, it was bronchiolitis but thankfully did not affect her feeding. Calpol saline drops and nasal aspirator a are great to clear the nose before feeds. Just keep an eye on his nappy output and pop over to the GP if you’re concerned :)
