Red and hot ears, any ideas?!

Dd1 is 7, and since birth tbh she has randomly got hot red ears.
When we first noticed it recurring she was about 6m old and docs at the time said she would probably grow out of it.
Age 4 it still happened, no pain or burning sensations, doctors again said she’d grow out of it.

Tonight, they are a tiny bit more red than usual and she’s said they’re itching. She didn’t know they were red until I said, but she’s still gone back to bed with no intervention, said it wasn’t that bad just felt a bit odd and she’s asleep now.

Is it worth bothering a doctor again with it? As I say it occurs so randomly, could be just when she’s sat watching TV, or even when she’s asleep or in the bath.
Temperature difference doesn’t seem to be an aspect either as when she sits watching tv not moving it just happens!

My ears itch like crazy when I haven't been taking my hay fever tablets.
