1 month old struggling to poo

Hello!
I'm a first time mum with a delicious 1 month old son. He's a gorgeous good boy, who generally is content as long as he's being held or fed! The only time he cries and cries and we can't console him seems to be when he wants to poo but can't; of course this is a guess because he can't tell me! But I'm fairly sure that's the problem.
Previously he'd been very windy and we struggled to get any wind up when we buried him. Infacol has really helped.
When he is struggling he cries and cries and strains and goes red, kicking his legs.
When he does eventually go for a poo it is usually quite spectacular! He seems much happier afterwards. I'd say we get about 4 huge poos a day. He is exclusively breast fed and generally feeds well. I have wondered if it could be Diarrhea but think it's just a lot of newborn poo. We have plenty of wet nappies.
Does anyone have any advice on helping him poo? We have tried moving his legs and massaging his tummy but no joy.
Thanks!
