Not to me, but it’s always getting miles you’re worried about checked.

SouthWestmom · 22/04/2019 13:19

Thank you. Just because the border is faded that's all. He has loads, just this one was noticeable

It’s always hard to tell from a picture. Normal moles vary a lot. Have it checked but it’s almost certainly fine.

I'd def get it checked. It's the border and uneven colour.
My DS has a mole that gets checked ever 6 months at our hospital dermatologist due to it's location and the fact it just seemed to 'appear' one day. Also the border is uneven.

Thank you. Close family died due to melanoma - I know it's not hereditary but I'm a bit twitchy. Interesting that they check it every so often, reassuring.

Sorry to hear that. It's good to be vigilant and although it's not 'inherited' it would make me worry too.
Yes, it's reassuring. The doctor uses a gel and a microscope and takes pictures and can see the inner layers. They then compare the pics to previous pics to see if there are any changes other than obviously the size as the mole grows as the child grows.( pretty obvious- sorry)

Get it checked. My dd has just had one removed from her lower back. Still awaiting results and feeling scared stiff, but it's best to get it checked.

SouthWestmom · 22/04/2019 14:12

Oh I'm sorry 42 hope you get good news soon.

Thanks, Noeuf. I was surprised that they wanted to remove it, but I'm hoping it'll be okay. Dd is 13. have to have a strange thing under my toenail which needs to be checked by a dermatologist as well (see my thread in general heath) Anxious times - which I'm not very good at dealing with!

Sorry to bump a very old thread, @SouthWestmom but just wondering what the outcome was? My DDs is almost identical to this. It’s being checked on Friday and I’m in a state about it
