Is this normal?

My daughter is 2 and since February she's had two sickness bugs, one was severe and lasted a week and we had to take her to A&E with possible dehydration. The other one lasted two days and was less than two weeks ago. Both times my 8 month old has then had sickness about a week later so I'm guessing it is a bug the toddler has had. My baby has also had a day of sickness in between these two episodes that the toddler didn't get.
My 2 year old has woken up this morning being sick again, it's not even been two weeks since the last time and only 3 days since the baby had it. Has she caught the same bug again? Is it normal for them to be ill this much or should I take them to the doctors? Neither of them go to nursery.

I just don't know what to do, we've had to cancel so many plans and I just feel so unhappy and now anxious about doing anything incase they're ill.

Do they go to nursery or playgroups? Mix with other kids much? It doesn't sound unusual....they do tend to get things like this because their immune systems aren't fully built yet.

I'm a big advocate of hand washing...especially when out and about because toddlers touch everything don't they? Take some wipes with you and wipe her hands when she's in the shopping centre/trains etc.

No they don't go to nursery but a lot of my friends have children and we go to soft play etc but we haven't been anywhere for at least 3 weeks so I don't know where she's picked up these latest bugs from. I don't know anyone else's children who are ill with sickness this much.

Once they've had one, then they're low to pick up the next ime.

My oldest had 3 sickness bugs over 12 weeks at 2.5yo. She wasn't at nursery or anything. I remember because I was just pregnant with dd2, so I had bad morning sickness too. Oh joy! Grin

I think she's vomited once since then and that wasn't a sickness bug. She's 18yo now, and not been ill since she was 8yo (pneumonia) except one morning of ear ache. I can count the number of days she'd had off school for illness, including preschool on the fingers of both hands-and at least half that was Chickenpox.

You must have been somewhere in the last three weeks! To the shops or whatever.

That's where they'll have picked up the bug.

Thank you @witchend that makes me feel better.
