Toddler cold / sleep

My 18 month old has a cold. Think sneezing, runny nose, generally unwell. He’s been dosed up with Calpol today and handled the heat well. I’ve given him bottles to help with naps, all well.
Until tonight. He won’t / can’t sleep. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’m not exaggerating he’s not still for 2 minutes. He’s in my bed, he’s everywhere, he’s on me, he’s off me, he’s on a pillow, he’s down the bottom. He’s half asleep. It’s as though he can’t get comfortable but surely if that was the case he would’ve got comfortable somehow?!
I’m in for a long night I know 😴

Oh no poor baby, it's so hard when your child is sick. My ds is like this when unwell, constantly fidgeting and can't get comfortable. After hours of tossing and turning he will finally settle usually when the sun comes up! Does he have a temp?

He’s warm but I wouldn’t say his temperature is too bad at the moment. He’s currently nestled between pillows and my shoulder. What’s the fidgetiness all about?! I’m not very good with poorly babies, my eldest was an absolute superstar when ill so this is all alien!

He is probably breathing better when his head is up, but isn’t used to sleeping like that. I hope he feels better in the morning.

Thanks for keeping me company at 2am! I’m so tired today but... it seems to be the onset of chicken pox, a fair few spots have appeared this morning 😩
