Irritating eyelashes

DD aged 10 is always rubbing the outer corners of her eyes, trying to separate the top and bottom eyelashes. Or pulling faces trying to pull them apart. She says they are annoying not itchy. There are no signs of eye infection and no discharge but this has been going on for weeks. Any advice most appreciated. I've tried a small trim of the lower corner eyelashes to see if that might help (her eyelashes are very long) but it didn't seem to make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks.

Could possibly be blepheritis? A very common, minor condition caused by blocked pores on the eye lid. Usually easily treated with warm compress & massage - have a google & see what you think

Thanks for replying. I had looked at that before and all the eyelids shown looked quite gunked up so I hadn't considered it! I will definitely have another look....

The photos will always show "worst case". Might be worth following the treatment for a few days to see if things improve perhaps?

Just take her for an eye exam. We have special microscopes that can see the the lashes in detail and will easily identify the problem.
