20 m/o has a swollen lump on his penis in the middle and I’ve now noticed white/yellow stuff coming out of his penis, some was hard some is creamy, what on God’s earth is it. I don’t like to seem like I’m overreacting which is why I’m coming to you guys first. Last night he had been changed not long before bed so I didn’t change him directly before bed and this morning he had pooed and his nappy was so full so I thought the swelling was down to him being sore from a full nappy and the poop but I’ve never seen anything like this on his penis or anything coming out of it?! Could it be thrush? What do I do?

You take him to the doctors

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/04/2019 16:29

Yes, why wouldn't you take him to the doctors?Confused Didn't you notice this first nappy change this morning?

Lindy2 · 08/04/2019 16:30

It sounds like an infection of some sort and you need to take him to see a doctor.

3luckystars · 08/04/2019 16:31

Go to the doctor today. Get it seen today.

MommaCinders · 08/04/2019 16:31

I meant what do I do if it is thrush as I’ve heard that it isn’t necessary to take him doctors and that it can be managed at home. But if anyone has anything helpful to offer in the way of experience with this type of situation that would be fantastic

ajandjjmum · 08/04/2019 16:32

But you don't know, so get him to the doctors.

MommaCinders · 08/04/2019 16:35

yes I noticed the swelling but as I said I thought he was just saw from being in a full nappy, I’ve literally just noticed the other stuff as I was putting cream on him. And in what universe can you just get a doctors appointment at the click of a finger, the poor kid was covered in a viral rash just a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t even get an appointment through nhs, probably because people go ooh I’ve got a runny nose, best call the doctor!!!

No one will tell you this is thrush and to treat it yourself OP but you will be told to take him to get it seen today rather than ask here

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/04/2019 16:37

He needs to see a doctor. Ring the surgery.

SosigDog · 08/04/2019 16:37

Seriously, take your kid to a doctor. Call 111 and they will get you an appointment today. Or even go to paediatric A&E if necessary.

ShutTheFridgeUp · 08/04/2019 16:38

If you can't get an appointment to see GP then maybe a pharmacist, or even 111?
That's literally the o lot advice strangers over the internet can give in this situation. Just get him seen by a medical professional today.

LaPopie · 08/04/2019 16:38

You go to a walk in, but this would qualify as an urgent don't not routine so the surgery should have some set aside each day. If you can't get one they should direct you to walk-just/urgent care or whatever your ooh GP led service is.

My son had this about the same age, (although he didn't have a lump) we were on holiday at the time, I made an emergency appointment with a local GP. It was an infection and the GP gave him antibiotics, the GP said it was quite common in boys his age.

You need to get him seen by a doctor so that they can prescribe him antibiotics, assuming that it's the same thing my son had, I wouldn't leave it any longer.

breadzeb · 08/04/2019 16:51

FFS take your child to a doctor.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/04/2019 21:40
