My 9yo has infected chicken pox. We saw out of hours gp last night and she was prescribed antibiotics and antiviral meds. It's definitely got worse overnight.and today she looks like something out of a medieval film set. Loads of the spots are full of pus. She's had two lots of antibiotics so far. Any ideas how long before it starts to improve?

Antibiotics normally take between 24-48 hours to kick in for any infection. I believe antivirals only really have an effect if taken within about 48hrs or so of the viral infection starting.
