Could it be asthma?

DD is 10. She's often had coughs, some croupy, some tickly.

They are now getting more frequent and she's saying her chest hurts and complains when out in the cold air. During PE the other day she was apparently coughing a lot and the teacher asked if she had an inhaler.

She's now got it in her head that she has asthma but I'm of the thinking it would have been obvious before now.

Can it come on later in childhood? I will be going to the GP but I'm sat here wondering.

I was diagnosed in Y7! It’s definitely worth a check. Cold air and exercise are two of my triggers.

asthma can start at any age.
see the gp.
don't fuck about with lungs.

I'm ringing GP Monday morning, I won't fuck about!

Interesting that it can come on later, I stupidly thought it was always when small.

I was diagnosed at 28!!. No symptoms until then.

Nothing stupid about it at all. Good luck.
