How did scarlet fever start?

Dd has a rash around groin and sore throat. Bumpy, itchy rash for two days. Only groin area though!

My dd had a headache and sore throat and went from looking a bit flushed to being bright red all over.

I had it... caught it from my daughter.
felt v v sore throat and slightly fluey then a rashvlike sandpaper and nausea

The thing that sets scarlet fever apart from other vaguer viral illnesses with a rash is that the SF rash feels really dry and rough like sandpaper. Have you checked your DD's tongue. With Sf you usually get a red and white swollen tongue - strawberry tongue.

Yes my ds’s rash started in groin area. Then had a very sore throat. Then rash came up on chest too.

Severe sore throat , temperature, sickness, rash, spotty tongue.
