For a week or two now my 5 year old Son has been saying he feels sick a lot. He often seems as if he is about to bring food back up, somewhere between a retch and a burp and said he feels like there is a frog in his throat. His tummy has been gurgling and rumbling too.

He was treat for reflux as a baby and we have had on and off problems with constipation and his tummy getting very hard and swollen. He saw a Consultant when he was about two as he had a blockage and overflow diarrhoea.

It was really bad tonight and I asked if his throat hurt and he said yes. Would it be overkill to book a GP appointment? His tummy has been getting swollen again lately as well.

Definitely don't think it would be overkill to see the gp about the this, especially if you think his tummy has been getting hard again. It does sound reflux /constipation related to me.

Thank you Nogodsnomasters I tried to get an appointment this morning but there was only one and I wouldn’t make it after School. I will try again on Monday.

I meant to drop in to speak to a pharmacist today but forgot all about it, I’m not sure if they would have given me anything anyway.

My 5 year old has omeprazole for exactly this.

Thanks bobstersmum he seems really uncomfortable and keeps saying he needs to be sick. Hopefully I will get an appointment and get him sorted.
