Repeat urine infections

DD(4) has had 5 urine infections over the last year. We had an appointment with paediatrics last week who is arranging an ultrasound. But my question is what is it they are looking for? I know he wants to check her kidneys and tubes. But not sure what for.
Has anyone had this and found an explanation?

Hi,

My daughter used to have this and it ended up being fused labia which is apparently quite common in young girls and can cause urine infections as the urine can collect in the join and create infection.
They had spoken about a scan and I think it was to see if there were any blockages/growths that would be causing the infection.
