Best bet is to see doctor.

There are a gazillion things that can cause lumps, and the vast majority are annoying but harmless. Good to get it checked out, but don't catastrophise.

My daughter had a swollen lymph node in her neck for months after a cold and runny nose. It took ages to go but did eventually.
Dr. said it just her immune system working away.

She was 14 at the time.

Do make an appointment to see the doctor but the chances are that it is a swollen lymph gland due to the recent infection she's had. It is scary when you find unexplained lumps on your children though.
